Rehearsals Begin for Mealor “Passiontide”

The rehearsals for the March 7 concert of Mealor’s Symphony No. 1 “Passiontide” begin this evening, January 5, with the listening/score marking gathering.  For singers scheduled for this concert this is a scheduled rehearsal although it is at an alternate location and is as much a post-holiday social event as it is a rehearsal.  For information on location and time, check the ADC Singers Private Facebook group or log in to view the restricted blog post with rehearsal information.

ADC Website Upgraded to Use SSL

The Arts District Chorale web site has been upgraded to force all traffic to use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption for all traffic. In most browsers, this will show up as a lock icon preceding the  URL, and “https” instead of “http” when the full URL is shown.

SSL allows encrypted password transmission to the site making it significantly more secure and substantially less susceptible to man-in-the-middle attacks.  In addition, Google has begun penalizing unencrypted sites in search results, and will begin visually penalizing unencrypted sites in search results beginning in January, 2017.

This passionate group of musicians from the North Texas area is honored to be sharing the stage with the legendary singer, songwriter and producer. “The invitation came out of the blue, but the response from the chorale was unanimous–we didn’t want to pass up the opportunity, especially since this is Mr. Manilow’s final tour”, said Constantina Tsolainou, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Arts District Chorale.

After hearing the Arts District Chorale with Barry Manilow on some of his signature songs, make plans to attend their next concert with members of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at Dallas City Performance Hall on Tuesday, March 1st at 7:30pm.
