Auditions

The Arts District Chorale is an ensemble of skilled, talented, dedicated, professional-quality singers from all walks of life. Recognized for unique and innovative programming, the Chorale’s work is built upon a shared experience of continuous learning and a commitment to excellence, and promoting arts experiences that transform the community, singer and audience alike.

Audition dates are July 18 and August 3, 6:00-8:00 p.m. or by appointment. Complete the audition form at the bottom of this page. We will contact you to arrange a specific time slot.

At the audition you will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
— A good choral voice, not necessarily a solo voice.
— An ability to blend with other voices.
— Intonation, rhythm and general musicianship.
— Ability and enthusiasm to self-teach your part.

Audition Process and Details
— You will be asked to vocalize, to sight-read two short choral pieces, and to repeat some short phrases by ear.
— In addition, you will be asked to prepare several brief passages from three choral works, to be sung unaccompanied. These excerpts will be provided to you in advance of your audition. You will not be asked to sing from memory.
— The audition will last about fifteen minutes.
— You will be informed of your acceptance status within one week of the audition.

ADC currently rehearses at Northway Christian Church, 7202 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas (Central Expressway @ NW Hwy) from 7:00-9:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
