Artistic Staff

Blair King is the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor for the Arts District Chorale (ADC), now in his fourth year in the role. Following ADC’s two-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, King has led the chorale through a rebuilding process, expansion of the ensemble, high-quality programming, and new and renewed collaborations with other ensembles and community organizations. A former ADC tenor, he brings a deep understanding of the chorale's mission and a passion for its sound.

King also serves as Choir Director and Vocal Music Instructor at Shelton School in Dallas, sharing both his love of music and dedication to teaching children with learning differences for more than 27 years. He was instrumental in developing Shelton’s new Moody Fine Arts Center and expanding the school's choral program, demonstrating his commitment to growing musical arts in the DFW Metroplex.

A graduate of the Texas Tech University School of Music, King has studied with notable conductors such as Paul Salomunovich, Ken Davis, and Tony Award® winner Ted Sperling. He has also studied vocal pedagogy with respected teachers from across the nation, including Stephen Austin, Ian Howell, and Ken Bozeman. King has worked with ADC partner organization ArtsVision Dallas as musical director for the past two summers.

He is a member of the American Choral Directors’ Association, Texas Choral Directors’ Association, Texas Music Educators’ Association, and ChorusAmerica.
